An Evening To Remember – A Night Of Stars

Monday, 06th of November, 2018.

Isn’t it better to light a candle than to blame the darkness?

Diwali, the festival of lights, is finally here, a time to dress up in finery and gorge on delicious dishes and revel in the company of loved ones! 😊

The festival is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains for a variety of reasons, although the main theme which runs throughout is the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance!

At Widas India too, we celebrated a spectacular Diwali – Thanks to Bhakti and Sarika for organizing a Diwali Party at Hotel Octave. Almost everyone was dressed in their ethnic best, their faces gleaming with joy, and no doubt, everyone was game, indeed in the spirit of the festival!

The party began with a note from Vishwa, our CEO and his vision for the company – It was certainly enlightening enough to provide the required ignition to kick-start the party!

As Diwali is often called the “festival of lights”, the girls of the company started off with a “Deepam” (meaning small lamps) dance that was followed by many other stellar performances by our own “Stars.

Prasad, Lavanya and Narasimha lent their voices to some evergreen melodies. And the lovely ladies danced their way to the tunes of many Bollywood foot-tapping numbers.

Then we had the “Zero-Gravity” team (Pavan & Raghavendra) with their fantabulously co-ordinated dance moves that would have almost caused a fluctuation on the Richter scale – You have to definitely watch their dance to agree that they couldn’t have named their team any better!

The party proved the perfect time for Sanjay to unleash the “Rockstar” in him – Our own Bryan Adams, he entertained us with hits like Hotel California and Guns & Roses, along with a surprise performance by Vishwa, who sang “Papa kehte hain..” to Sanjay’s Guitar chords.

After all the cultural events we broke for Hi-Tea – But that was not the end.
Finally, defying religion, gender & age, everyone came forward for the DJ night to shake their legs and burn the dance floor! – And this is exactly the spirit of Widas!!
Whatta moment! – Truly an evening to remember!
